About
Curtis Ashby is a painter and graphic designer based in the Pacific Northwest. He specializes in murals, hand-drawn illustrations, logo design, and brand identity, featuring bold and colorful imagery. His goal is to bring back elements of nature to the city through art. Curtis shares his unique Pacific Northwest perspective to advocate for art in public spaces that is bold and eye-catching, and encourages people to get out and enjoy what these communities have to offer.
Notably, Curtis was chosen by the City of Tacoma for its mural roster in 2016. In the years following, he has created murals for the cities of Tacoma, Puyallup, and Sumner, as well as for local businesses and organizations. His mural work focuses on supporting and celebrating the local community. In the summer of 2019, he designed a mural for the Tahoma Audubon Society, covering the entire length of their building. His contribution earned him the Distinguished Service Community Award. In the spring of 2020, Curtis participated in Spaceworks’ Rapid Response Mural Project, painting boarded-up windows on three Tacoma buildings.
In December 2021, he became a member of the Metro Parks Tacoma Arts & Heritage Council, where he served as Vice Chair for one year.
With over 10 years of experience, Curtis’s most recent professional role is Senior Graphic Designer at Tacoma-based business Foster’s Creative. In the spring of 2026, Curtis will complete his newest mural at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma.
