Sasquatch! Music Festival 2016 Rationale
In 2016, I was invited to be a part of the visual arts team at the Sasquatch! Music Festival. I painted live at the event for 3 days and created a new series of work that featured different birds and objects. The purpose of this project was to add a visual element to the music festival so that concertgoers had something to look at as they walked from one stage to the next. Since we were a team, a lot of the activities were done as a group. Some of use even collaborated on art pieces during the event. I also made a series of paintings on wood. This particular project was as fun as it was challenging. The most challenging part of this project was the fact that we were painting outdoors for three days surrounded by a large group of people. It is very useful to have good multitasking skills so that you can talk and answer questions while still painting. This project was important to my career because it allowed me to gain exposure with a fresh audience, and I also got the chance to network with other artists and event coordinators.
