“In Habitat” Solo Art Show Rationale
In November of 2015, I had a solo art show at Chroma Clouds Gallery in Seattle, WA. For this show, I created over 25 original pieces of art. The theme of the show was birds shown on backgrounds that represent graffiti walls that you might find in a busy city. To prepare for this show, I spent time researching and drawing birds, choosing colors, and painting. All the pieces were finished with saw tooth hangers and rubber pads so they would sit properly on the wall. During this process, I learned a lot about marketing. The gallery created a promotional video to promote the show so I got to see how that was put together. Since then, I’ve been creating videos and promoting my artwork and shows in similarly creative ways. Having a solo show was a highlight of my year. I was able showcase my art style and skills in one large collection.
